MITdesignX Venice is a multi-year open call for ideas co-created by MITdesignX (Boston)
and SerenDPT, a Venetian benefit company.
MITdesignX seeks people working on challenging ideas with clear vision, passion and a drive to design solutions and launch real ventures: creative innovators dedicated to improving the quality of life in cities and the human environment.
Every year the 10 best ideas will gain admission to a free accelerator program, conducted by MIT faculty.
SerenDPT hosts the program at its headquarters (Fabbrica H3) on the Giudecca island of Venice and provides incentives for startups to locate in the historic city, so they can contribute to repopulating the city and the lagoon, by creating high-quality jobs for young people of all ages and Venetians of any origin.
Every year, Fondazione di Venezia provides MDXV program with a financial support and awards prizes to the top teams.
The MITdesignX Venice (MDXV) program will support 10 startups every year from ideation to launch:
The process consists of two phases:
An optional preparation phase in the Spring/Summer, to recruit teams and prepare them for submission into the program. Participation in the preliminary phase is not mandatory; all events are in person and open to the public upon registration.
The full program, in the Fall, conducted by MIT Faculty, reserved for the 10 best ideas submitted.
